Sizing agents are used to provide water resistance to printing and writing paper, such as paper for PPC and ink-jet, as well as to paper used to make liquid containers. Sizing agents added to pulp slurry in the paper making process are called internal sizing agents, and those applied on the surface of the finished sheets to improve paper quality, such as printability, are called surface sizing agents. |

[Dry Strength Agents] Dry strength agents are widely used to enhance the strength of paper and paperboard in its end use application. They are most often used to supplement the strength of recycled paper, since recycling results in loss of paper strength. |

[Wet Strength Agents] Generally, paper loses strength when it becomes wet. Wet strength agents are used in tissue paper or paper towels to augment their strength. The agents are also used to improve the dimensional stability of paper when wet. |

[Printability Aids] Printability aids are added to a coating color when making a coated paper for quality printing. These aids enhance the water resistance, gloss, ink receptivity, dot reproductivity, and blister resistance of coated paper. |

[Ink-Jet Water Resistance Aids] Ink-jet water resistance aids are used to increase the water resistance of ink-jet printing paper and keep the ink from bleeding when the sheet is still wet. It provides quality prints by enhancing the optical density of the ink film. |

[Creping Aids] Creping aids are used in the process of imparting fine and uniform ridges in tissue paper. This provides a soft and absorbent texture to the tissue product. A creping system consists of two agents, which are used when drying tissue paper as a part of the production process. One is an adhesive that forms a stable bond to the drying surface, and the other is a release agent which effectively controls the ease of release of the sheet from the dryer. |

[Retention Aids] Retention aids are used in paper making to improve the retention of pulp fibers and filler thereby increasing productivity and improve the quality of the sheet. It is possible to mitigate adverse environmental effects by reducing the amount of pulp and other raw materials in the wastewater. |

[Coagulants] Coagulants protect paper machines from deposit formation which could arise from adhesives and other contaminants contained in recycled pulp, thereby increasing productivity. |
[Anti-Slipping Agents] Anti-slipping agents are applied on the surface of paper to increase the friction between individual sheets. If the paper is too slippery, it may cause handling problems in subsequent operations and in stacking. |

[Microbial Preparations for Wastewater Treatment] Microbial preparations are used for wastewater treatment to lower the COD and BOD values of the water and to enhance the ability to respond to fluctuations in load. They also contribute to operational stability by improving the sedimentation of activated sludge and enabling speedy start-up after regular maintenance. |

[Hi-Ros Series] Hi-Ros Series products are resins for offset ink based on rosin, alkylphenol, and polyalcohol. SEIKO PMC was among the first to successfully develop and satisfy the increasing demand for high-viscosity low-tack resins needed to comply with trend of printing at high speed and using recycled paper. The Company has also been successful in the development of resins compatible with eco-friendly 100% vegetable oil based ink. Furthermore, the Company offers a wide range of user friendly, wellbalanced resin products in various areas, such as web offset printing ink, sheetfed printing ink, newsprint ink, waterless lithography ink, and OP varnish. |
[Hi-Ros X Series] The basic framework of Hi-Ros X Series products is comprised of acryl, styrene acrylate and styrene-maleate polymers. The product line-up consists mainly of alkaline-soluble polymers containing carboxyl groups in their molecular structure that function as polar groups, along with water soluble solid resins, varnish and emulsion. SEIKO PMC is also developing solvent-based polymer products to meet specific end use demands. These polymers are widely used in such things as printing ink, coating compounds, adhesives, clear coating compounds, paper-processing chemicals, and are contributing to the improvement of pigment dispersion, surface gloss, and resistance. |
[Hi-Ros C Series] The demand for toners used in laser beam printers and copiers have increased dramatically in recent years due to the rapid growth of information technology. SEIKO PMC has been one of the first to develop resins for toners and respond to the need to improve image quality and move on to high-speed and color printing. The Company is currently engaged in the development of higher performance products, with the goal of energy conservation and higher speed as its themes. |
